A group of senators are calling for the Secretary of Labor to simplify the process of navigating the federal workers' compensation program for nuclear workers.
The Senate appropriations committee wrote in a report accompanying S. 1771 that it is disturbed by a whistleblower's allegations that the Department of Labor manipulated regulations in order to make it essentially impossible for nuclear-weapons workers to receive benefits.
