Air Ambulance Rates Leave Lawmakers Searching for Solutions

The Montana and Utah legislatures are considering resolutions asking Congress to help them cap prices charged by air ambulance services, while proposals have been introduced in North Dakota and New Mexico to prohibit the air carriers from billing patients when insurers don't pay the full tab. The proposed resolution in Montana, Senate Joint Resolution 13, by Tom Facey, D-Missoula, states that out-of-state corporations have forced residents into bankruptcy.
