Special Fund Not Liable for Death Benefits in Claim Filed After Cutoff Date

A New York appellate court ruled that a claim for death benefits that accrued prior to the closure of liability for the Special Fund for Reopened Cases cannot be transferred to the fund unless the application was made prior to the cutoff date as well.
