The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries fined Amazon $85,800 for allegedly exposing workers to the risk of injury at a fulfillment center in Spokane.
L&I said Amazon “requires workers to execute repetitive motions, lifting and other physical work at such a fast pace that it puts workers at risk for developing work-related musculoskeletal disorders.”
The department said 2,400 people work at the fulfillment center in Spokane and that the facility has the highest injury rates for all Amazon warehouses in the state.
