The chairman of the California Senate Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations introduced legislation that would overturn a California appellate court decision allowing the apportionment of permanent disability to genetic risk factors, two weeks after the state Supreme Court denied a petition to review the case.
Sen. Steven Bradford, D-Gardena, on Monday amended Senate Bill 617 to propose a prohibition on apportionment determinations that are based on a genetic predisposition.
