Fulton County, Georgia, home to Atlanta, has become the second government entity in the United States to file suit against drug distributors for allegedly helping feed a public health crisis in the form of opioid addiction and abuse.
While many attorney generals and other public litigators have filed suit against pharmaceutical companies and doctors in connection with a wave of opioid addiction the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have called an “epidemic,” only Fulton County and West Virginia have sent their legal teams after drug distributors.
