The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation will hold a hearing May 14 on its plan to extend a pilot program for the third time, until December 2020.
The program, begun in 2015, has been limited to northeast Ohio and just for knee injuries. Now, the BWC notes that the plan has proved successful and wants to take it statewide.
The plan allows managed care organizations more flexibility on treatment authorizations and reimbursement during the first 60 days after a claim has been filed, and can mean faster medical treatment for injured workers, especially if more than one condition is involved...
