Financial transactions that a federal judge said violated the terms of Michael D. Drobot’s plea agreement are about to cost the former hospital executive the very thing he says he was trying to save: his waterfront home in Southern California.
U.S. District Judge Josephine Staton on Wednesday ordered Drobot to forfeit his home in Newport Beach, and a commercial warehouse in Perris, to satisfy his obligation to relinquish $10 million in criminal proceeds from the kickback scheme at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach. Drobot owes the government $4.5 million.
