Federal prosecutors have announced a guilty plea and a settlement agreement in two more compounding pharmacy kickback schemes, one of which involved $400 million in fraud and is being called the largest health care scam ever prosecuted in Mississippi.
In Mississippi, pharmacist Thomas Spell Jr. last week admitted to more than $243 million in false claims to insurance carriers, mostly TriCare, the government health program for the military, veterans and their families, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi said.
