A senior official with the Drug Enforcement Agency failed to report $300,000 in income he received while receiving federal workers’ compensation benefits, according to a report by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Inspector General’s Office.
The office said the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs overpaid the official $60,000. The OWCP has reduced the official’s monthly benefits to recover the overpayments, but the Justice Department prosecutors decided not to prosecute.
