The Texas Division of Workers' Compensation announced it will raise the maximum level of weekly benefits by 3.7%.
The state’s maximum for temporary total disability will rise from $970.71 to $1,006.71 starting Oct. 1, the division said Wednesday.
The maximum level is set by law at 100% of the state's average weekly wage. Last year, the average weekly wage and maximum benefit rose 3.5%, from $938.
The maximum benefit was $913.37 for fiscal year 2018.
