Agent Accused of Stealing $65,000 From Small-Business Owners

A Southern California insurance agent surrendered at the Los Angeles County Superior Court after being charged with four counts of grand theft for allegedly pocketing premiums that small-business owners paid for workers’ compensation and liability coverage. The Department of Insurance said Francis Okyere, 67, is accused of stealing $65,456 in premiums from four business owners between July 2015 and September 2016.
