California employers would be illegally discriminating against injured workers if they deny requests to let them miss work to get treatment for occupational injuries, under a recently amended bill. Sen. John Laird, D-Santa Cruz, amended Senate Bill 1205 on Wednesday to add language that would say an employer violates the prohibition on retaliating against injured workers in Labor Code Section 132a if it denies an employee’s request to attend scheduled treatment during regular work hours.
