The director of the Industrial Commission of Arizona along with two commissioners resigned shortly after a state lawmaker raised questions about excessive per diem payments, according to media reports.
Arizona state Sen. Kimberly Yee, R-Phoenix, requested information about per diem payments to ICA board members in advance of an agency review hearing held in August. She found two ICA members sought payment for more workdays than existed in the year, according to the Arizona Republic.
According to Yee, there were 251 workdays in the fiscal year ending in 2015.
