Vendor Taking Orders for New Medical Fee Schedule

The Alaska Workers' Compensation Division announced that it has contracted with OptumInsight, formerly Ingenix, to produce a new medical fee schedule that will be available on or before Sept. 30.The Alaska Legislature earlier this year approved House Bill 13 by Rep. Kurt Olson, R-Saldotna, requiring the board to create a new fee schedule that reimburses physicians at the lowest of either the 90th percentile of usual, customary and reasonable rates for a specific geographic region, the fee charged to the general public or the fee negotiated between the provider and employer.The new fee sche...
