AmTrust, Swiss Re Make Deal on Small Commercial Policies

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. has entered into a quota share agreement for 2019 with Swiss Reinsurance America Corp. The agreement covers U.S. small commercial business totaling about $2.9 billion in projected written premiums, with Swiss Re projected to assume about $1.05 billion on an in-force, new and renewal basis. Workers’ comp and liability business including general, excess, surplus, umbrella and professional lines are covered under the agreement, AmTrust said in a news release.
