Employers Holdings, a Reno, Nevada-based national workers' compensation carrier, grew its net income 57.8% in 2014.
The company grew its net earned premiums 6.6% from $632.3 million to $684.5 million while shrinking its losses and loss-adjustment expenses 2.2% from $463.6 million to $453.4 million, according to its fourth-quarter earnings statement. Excluding the impact of a loss portfolio transfer agreement, Employers' combined ratio dropped from 109.8% to 105%.
