New Mexico state lawmakers busied themselves Wednesday working to undo a trio of court decisions that favored workers but potentially increased system costs. The House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow workers' compensation judges to reduce indemnity benefits owed to a worker whose intoxication contributed to an accident. In the meantime, the House Judiciary Committee passed a bill that would prohibit workers fired for misconduct after returning to work after an injury from collecting temporary disability benefits.
