Virginia lawmakers passed bills that would allow employers and carriers one year to recover payments to health care providers and require them to notify injured workers of the right to dispute claim denials.
The House of Delegates on Monday voted 97-1 to pass HB 205, by Del. Shelly A. Simonds, D-Newport News.
On the same day, the Senate voted 29-11 to pass SB 241, by Sen. Jeremy S. McPike, D-Woodbridge.
SB 241 would require employers and carriers to notify injured workers that they have the right to dispute the denial of a claim with the Workers’ Compensation Commission.
