Uninsured Employer, Sacramento Park Ranger Bills Head to Governor

California lawmakers voted to send Gov. Gavin Newsom bills that aim to help the state recover costs of claims filed against illegally uninsured employers and provide full-pay salary continuation benefits to local park rangers in Sacramento. The Assembly on Aug. 28 voted 74-0 to pass SB 847, by Sen. Eloise Reyes, D-San Bernardino, which would allow the Department of Industrial Relations to attach a lien to property that an illegally uninsured employer tried to hide after a workplace accident.
