BLS: Insurance Industry Loses 3,800 Jobs in April

The insurance industry lost 3,800 jobs in April, according to preliminary numbers in the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Economic Situation Report released this month. Since April 2017, the insurance industry has added 33,900 jobs and lost 14,700, noted Jay Rollins, owner of the insurance employment website InsuranceJobs.com. “Between gains and losses, the insurance industry has only added 19,200 jobs over the past 12 months,” Rollins said.
