Maximum weekly benefits and total compensation payable in death claims will increase by more than 4% on July 1 under terms of a bill signed by Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal.
House Bill 818, by Rep. Jason Shaw, R-Lakeland, would increase the maximum weekly benefit payment for total disability to $575 from $550. The bill would also increase the maximum benefit for temporary partial disability to $383 per week from $367.
And the measure increases the maximum payout on death claims to $230,000 from $220,000.
