California workplace safety regulators have cited an agricultural employer and a farm labor contractor with proposed penalties totaling more than $100,000 after a worker was crushed at a walnut processing facility in Tehama County.
Crain Walnut Shelling in Los Molinos faces proposed penalties of $67,500 following the fatal incident on Oct. 6, according to the Division of Occupational Safety and Health, also known as Cal/OSHA.
Fresno-based Cal North Farm Labor Inc. was also cited with proposed penalties of $33,750, the agency said.
