Report Shows Jump in Number of Employers Opting Out of Comp

A new report by the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation shows an uptick in the number of employers who have opted out of the state's voluntary comp system despite declines in premiums in recent years. Insurers and regulators aren't sounding any alarms, though, and note that the trend over the last 25 years has been toward a steady increase in employer participation.
