A bill that would require insurers to crack down on fraud by creating investigative units is nearing a House floor vote.
HB 1007 was placed on third reading Friday.
If passed, every insurer, regardless of size, would be required by Dec. 31 to establish and maintain a designated anti-fraud unit or enter a contract with another entity that would investigate and report possible fraud.
