Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed into law a bill that gives injured workers more time to file notice if the employer fails to pay benefits.
Lawmakers in early June passed SB 2190, and the bill took effect immediately when the governor signed it Monday.
The measure gives workers six months, not two, to file notice with the Bureau of Workers' Compensation that a business had not paid benefits. The claims are paid through the state's uninsured employers' fund.
