Supreme Court Denies Tort Recovery for Family of Worker Killed in Firearms Training

The Mississippi Supreme Court unanimously ruled that a family could not seek a civil recovery for a worker’s fatal shooting during a firearms training exercise. Case: In re Estate of Gorman v. State, No. 2019-CA-01240-SCT, 12/17/2020, published. Facts: John Gorman worked for the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
