What was supposed to be a temporary 13-week assignment in California has turned into a three-year ordeal for Alabama nurse Althea Hart, who, according to the Bakersfield Californian, would have to forgo medical treatment for her occupational injury if she returns home.
Hart started working at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital on July 1, 2011, under a contract with Fastaff US Nursing, which provides temporary nurses to medical facilities. She tripped over a cord on Aug. 25 and hit her head on the ground. She says she suffered a concussion, a torn right rotator cuff, blurred vision in her right eye...
