Hearing Canceled on Covered Employee Reporting Bill

A bill that would require employers to report all covered employees when purchasing workers' compensation insurance has been taken off the agenda for the Jan. 8 hearing of the California Assembly Insurance Committee, but a staffer with the author's office said the measure is not dead.Assembly Bill 1138, by Ed Chau, D-Alhambra, would require businesses to submit to their work comp carriers the same wage data they compile in annual, quarterly and reconciliation reports filed with the Employment Development Department.
