Gavin Newsom pushes to shift to an endemic approach to COVID-19, California lawmakers on Wednesday took the first steps toward preserving some vestiges from the pandemic phase that proponents say can protect workers from the virus and ensure access to medical care for those exposed to it in the workplace.
