The Mississippi Court of Appeals ruled that a physical fight between two workers stemming from their different tastes in music did not result in a compensable injury for the losing combatant.
The court said there was nothing in the record to demonstrate employment was a contributing cause to the injury Jonathan Hollis suffered in September 2019.
“A quarrel regarding musical genre preference is not subject matter that is considered related to work, and thus is not compensable,” the court said.
