Supreme Court Denies Review of WCAB Finding of Special Employer Relationship

The California Supreme Court will not be reviewing a carrier's challenge to an administrative finding that its insured was the special employer of an injured refinery worker. Raymond Barrios worked for Irwin Industries. Irwin sent him to work at the Mobil Corp. refinery in Torrance, where he suffered injuries to his lungs, nervous system and psyche in 1996.
