The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation on Friday announced it awarded $5 million in grants for workplace safety projects.
The second round of Workforce Safety Innovation Grants disbursed this year are funding two proof-of-concept projects and three prototype projects, the BWC said.
In one proof-of-concept project, a researcher at Ohio State University is working on an emergency breathing apparatus designed to save lives in situations such as fires, confined space rescues and mine explosions.
