A Southern California hospital employee is accused of misrepresenting the extent of her injuries in order to collect workers' compensation benefits, the state Insurance Department said Wednesday.
Detectives on Monday arrested 45-year-old Johana Magnolia Paredes of Bellflower on two felony counts of workers' compensation insurance fraud. She allegedly misrepresented her injuries to collect $39,953 in disability payments that she was not entitled to, the department said in a press release.
