Committee Puts Hold on Voucher Bill

By Greg Jones, Western Bureau ChiefSACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The California Senate Appropriations Committee on Monday placed a hold on legislation that would make supplemental job-displacement vouchers available earlier in the claim process.The committee sent to its suspense file AB 1145, by Gil Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, until an analysis of its fiscal impact can be completed.The Appropriations Committee website says bills are sent to the suspense file if they would have a fiscal impact of $50,000 or more on the General Fund or $150,000 or more on any other account or fund.
