DWC Proposes Death Benefits Rule Amendments to Implement HB 2314

The Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation proposed amendments to Rule 122.100 and suggested a new Rule 124.8 concerning death benefits to implement HB 2314. HB 2314, enacted in June, allows surviving family members to file a claim for death benefits with insurance carriers and requires carriers to maintain records of the claims and provide notice to the system.  The author of the bill, Rep.
