Texas workers' compensation insurance carriers are doing something right, according to a scorecard that regulators released Monday.
The scorecard, produced by the Division of Workers' Compensation, shows that overall, complaints about carriers dropped from 6,205 in 2018 to 4,149 in 2019. And complaints about Texas Mutual Insurance Co., the largest carrier in the state, dropped from 233 in 2018 to 146 last year.
In other words, the company that controls a reported 40% of the market was the subject of about 3.5% of the complaints filed with the DWC in 2019, the scorecard shows.
