The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health cited a farm labor contractor $17,550 for violating heat illness prevention standards.
Cal/OSHA said it opened an investigation into Ruiz Farm Labor in Dixon in June after reports that the contractor turned away a group of farmworkers who left a shift early during a heatwave.
