State Compensation Insurance Fund has reached a settlement in a civil suit against Dr. Faustino Bernadett, who the carrier claimed was involved in a kickback scheme at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach.
Attorneys for State Fund and Bernadett disclosed the agreement in a settlement notice filed with the U.S. District Court for Central California on Wednesday. The notice says the deal is contingent on a good faith settlement determination by the court.
