Old Republic Rebounds to Profit in 4th Quarter 2013

Old Republic International Corp. reported a 2013 fourth-quarter performance rebound from a year ago, with net income of $94.7 million or 33 cents a share. That compared to a net loss of $20.2 million, or 8 cents a share for the same 2012 quarter.The Chicago-based insurance company reported net operating income of 33 cents a share compared to a net operating loss of 9 cents last year.Consolidated operating results for 2013's fourth quarter showed improved underwriting performance in most of the company's operations.
