Private self-insured employers incurred losses of $620 million in 2011, up 4.2% from the amount incurred the previous year, as lost-time claims frequency edged up a fraction and medical-only claims declined slightly, the California Workers' Compensation Institute reported.Using data from the California Office of Self Insurance Plans, CWCI said private self-insureds' total claims frequency for 2011 dropped to 3.66 per 100 employees from 3.68 in 2010.
