The State Medical Board of Ohio has voted to allow its investigators to carry firearms on the job, due to potential danger in dealing with so-called "pill mills."Board spokeswoman Joan Wehrle told WorkCompCentral Monday that the vote taken Thursday came after reports from investigators that they have encountered armed staff when going to examine suspected "pill mill" operations.The operations involve doctors who are overprescribing painkillers to individuals who do not need the prescriptions for medical reasons."We have had some investigators recently who have had some uncomfortable situations...
