Gov. Signs CURES Funding Bill

California Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday signed into law a measure he said “modestly increases” licensing fees to pay for an upgrade to the state’s prescription drug-monitoring system.In addition to signing SB 809 to pay for an overhaul of the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System, Brown also signed SB 670, which he said gives the Medical Board “better access to information needed to investigate suspicious deaths.”SB 809, by Sen.
