State Adopts Final Rules on Designated Doctor Performance Reviews

The Texas Division of Workers' Compensation has given final approval to less-stringent rules governing how it will grade the performance of designated doctors, and some of the providers who have followed the debate are happy with the plan. “The changes made in these reviews are reasonable and give the DWC ample ability to evaluate the designated doctor system without tying them down to unrealistic expectations,” said Jeff Cunningham, a chiropractor and member of the Texas Chiropractic Association.
