Maine's superintendent of insurance has issued a warning to property-casualty insurers to refrain from using the COVID-19 epidemic as an excuse to avoid honoring some policies.
“It has come to the superintendent’s attention that some insurers have notified their policyholders that their policies will not cover COVID-19 risks,” Bureau of Insurance Superintendent Eric Cioppa said in a bulletin posted Tuesday.
