Guam’s acting Gov. Joshua Tenorio signed into law bills that increase weekly indemnity benefits for the first time since 1989 and authorize civil penalties for employers that violate any workers’ compensation law.
Tenorio on Wednesday signed Bill 200 and Bill 201, both by Sen. Regine Biscoe Lee.
Upon enactment, Bill 200 increases the maximum weekly benefit to $520 from $250. On Oct. 1, 2021, the maximum weekly benefit will increase again to $1,011.
