Some California legislators said Gov. Gavin Newsom has overstepped his authority after several recent actions, including issuing an executive order creating a COVID-19 presumption, according to a news report from Sacramento.
According to NBC affiliate KCRA, Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, R-Roseville, has introduced a resolution to limit the governor’s emergency powers. Kiley told the news station that Newsom shouldn’t have been allowed to make changes to the state’s workers’ compensation and vote-by-mail systems without legislative approval.
