It may seem like an overdue change in the modern age, but the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation must still go through the rulemaking process on a plan to allow parties to request medical fee dispute resolutions via electronic means.
The DWC said Wednesday that it is now accepting public comment on the proposed change, which would let health care providers and pharmacies submit the resolution requests by encrypted email, fax, or secure file transfer protocol.
Current regulations require that the requests be sent only by mail or hand-delivery.
