Nebraska has announced an increase in the maximum weekly benefit under its workers' compensation law.
Starting Jan. 1, 2016, the maximum benefit will increase to $785, 100% of the state's average weekly wage, as calculated by the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Court.
This amount will apply to benefits awarded after that date. The previous top benefit levels will continue to apply to work-related injuries and illnesses that occurred before Jan. 1.
The minimum weekly benefit remains at $49.
