Profitable Q2 at The Hartford Includes Favorable Work Comp Development

The Hartford has reported second quarter net income of $582 million, a reversal of a $40 million net loss in the second quarter of 2017. For the company’s commercial lines segment, net income was $372 million in the second quarter, a 44% increase from $258 million in the prior-year quarter.
